About Us

Center was funded in July 2003 and has registered in Ministry of Justice in August 27 (Act of Minister N 959). Center was created by recommendation of the WHO and by supporting of UICC. Centers' Director is George Bakhturidze. Centers' aim is to promote FCTC (with Protocols) implementation, also to provide monitoring on the execution of the FCTC in Georgia.

World No Tobacco Day in Georgia
World No Tobacco Day is celebrated around the world yearly on May 31. It aims to inform population about the risks of tobacco consumption and tobacco companies’ harmful measures, furthermore regarding the actions what WHO is doing to fight the tobacco epidemic.
Monitoring actions in schools and medical institutions
In November and early December, 2009 the “Tobacco Control Alliance” conducted another round of monitoring in Tbilisi schools and clinics.
